New music on Friday is a guarantee. This was a quiet music Friday tho. Trey Songz, BlocBoy JB, Travis Scott & Anderson Paak dropped new music.


R&B singer Trey Songz released a new 22-song project called “Back Home.” The album includes his hit single “Back Home” ft. Summer Walker.


Known for his hit single “Rover”, BlocBoy JB dropped a new album titled “Fatboy.”


Toxic king Future and Travis Scott, who recently announced a collaboration with McDonald’s, dropped a new song together called “Franchise.”

Anderson Paak dropped a new song “Jewelz.”


Although the coverage has almost stopped, marches for social justice and equality are still happening in Louisville and in other cities across the world.


Hundreds gathered at Tyler Park in Louisville for the “March to Justice” protest on Saturday. March organizer Marc Murphy and U.S Rep John Yarmouth both spoke to the crowd gathered at Tyler Park in honor of Breonna Taylor.


Protectors including Sadiqa Reynolds, President & CEO of Louisville Urban League who drove in a convertible, marched down Baxter Avenue from Tyler Park to Jefferson Park.


Protests against police brutality and social justice aren’t just happening in the United States, citizens in both Hong Kong and Nigeria have been protesting in their respective countries.


#EndSARSNow has been trending since Friday, after Nigerian citizens took to social media to share videos of the police using tear gas and cannons on protestors marching against SARS and police brutality.


SARS or Special Anti-Robbery Squad is a special Nigeran police unit accused of kidnapping, harassment, and extortion.


After mounting pressure from Nigerian citizens amid protests, the Nigerian government has chosen to disband SARS. The announcement was made in a statement by Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police.


Statement from police spokesman Frank Mba:

IGP M.A Adamu ... has today, 11th October 2020, dissolved the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) across the 36 State Police Commands and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)...

Despite the group being disbanded, protests intend to continue marching against police brutality.


The NFL is still struggling to contain COVID-19 coming into Week 5 of the season.


The New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans have both closed their practice facilities after reporting positive tests during their last round of testing.


Following the report, Monday’s game between the Broncos and Patriots has been postponed. Despite 24 positive tests, the Titans are still set to play the Bills on Tuesday.

 

Breaking News


After a long entertaining NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, the Lakers are now NBA Champions. On Sunday night, the Lakers beat the Heat 106-93 to win the series 4-2.

This is the Lakers 17th championship. Lebron James was named the 2020 Finals MVP, this is his fourth NBA title.


The second presidential debate that was originally set for October 15th in Miami has now been cancelled by the Commission on Presidential Debates.


After President Trump tested positive for COVID-19, the debate was made virtual, which President Trump refused. The Commission on Presidential Debates made the announcement Friday to cancel the second debate, after a lot of back and forth between the Trump and Biden campaign over the debate format.


The final debate scheduled for October 29th is still set to take place.


With less than 21 days until Election Day, an important ruling had been made in a key battleground state. In the state of Pennsylvania, a federal judge has decided to uphold ballot drop boxes.


The Trump Campaign and key Republicans in recent weeks have been attempting to change voting policy in regards to absentee ballots.


In Texas, some counties are in an ongoing court battle on whether multiple drop-off locations for mail-in ballots should set up. Texas Gov Greg recently issued a proclamation which sought to limit drop off location to one per county in Texas Democratic counties with large populations.


The deadline to register has ended in some states.


Despite President Trump saying the coronavirus is “disappearing” cases are still mounting across the U.S. The United States leads the world with more than 7.6 million cases.


For the third day in a row, the U.S recorded over 50,000 cases. On Friday, 57,420 new cases were reported according to data from John Hopkins University.


States like Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and North Carolina are experiencing the most surges in cases.
