September

Last month was all about assessment. I challenged you to dedicate some time for self-assessment. The goal was to do some deep assessment to determine your current state in life.

What level are you on?

Are you being fully efficient in life?

Is there room for growth?

Are there some things you need to change?

Now that we’ve assessed...

It's time to hit the gas pedal.

Welcome to September!

September’s theme is surging forward.

How to Surge Forward

Surge

S - set boundaries/self- control

U - utilize your power

R - remember to give yourself credit

G - get a plan

E - enjoy the process/ease into it

Set boundaries/self-control

Growth takes discipline.

The biggest difference between college and high school for me was discip0line and responsibility. In college, nobody is checking behind me making sure that I'm on task, being productive. It’s my responsibility to stay on track.

Life is the same way. It’s up to you to hold yourself accountable.

Set boundaries and guidelines. Have some self-control. Your guidelines can be as simple as or complex as you prefer.

Utilize your power

There are maybe resources and tools available to you that you have not tapped into or even considered. Use your power.

With everything that’s going on in the world, even in your own life, how can you use your power and influence to make a difference?

I’m not saying become a full-time social activist or run for alderman.

Simply registering to vote or signing a petition can be ways of utilizing your power. It’s up to you. You know to what capacity your power and influence will reach.

Remember to give yourself credit

Life is a lesson and a growing process. Growth takes time, along with trial and error. Give yourself some credit. Don’t be hard on yourself.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Do not rush your process. Give yourself time and credit for the progress you’ve made.

If you’re having a difficult time seeing any progress, each day write what tasks you accomplished, how you feel, any breakthroughs, etc. At the end of the week, read what you wrote for each day. Track your progress.

Get a plan

Do not start any task or new venture aimlessly without a plan or agenda.

During the early stages of creating a business, one of the first tasks a business owner must do is create a business plan. Depending on the kind of business, the plan varies in details but the overall idea is to take time to think and design the structure of the business, target audience, revenue, budget, services, etc.

Plan your life the same way. Come up with a plan.

What’s your plan of attack? How do you plan on surging forward this month?

Enjoy the process

Have some fun. This process is for you, take the time to enjoy.

You’re reinventing yourself, that’s cause for celebration.
